Overview

The objective of this partner project was to re-establish the connection between two Cincinnati neighborhoods, Clifton and Northside, both with rich histories and well-developed communities. The Ludlow Viaduct runs directly below the Interstate 75 bridge, creating a valley of views. Our design needed to utilize the existing structural system to create an enveloped space, dedicated bike paths, pedestrian trails, and car lanes.

Design

We focused our layout on enhancing each circulation experience. We wanted our design to resemble an urban fabric by creating a large platform below the bridge. Ample floor space allowed us to provide a variety of mediums to interact with one another and nature. We incorporated auditorium seating for community events, yoga and bike platforms to get your sweat on, an interactive jungle gym sculpture for children, while optimizing perspectives of the valley.
